About bARk

An Augmented Reality Experience

We created this as a three week project in the course Advanced Graphics and Interaction, given at KTH. Some of our motivations for creating this project were:

  • Enable people to leave their bark⁽ᵐᵃʳᵏ⁾ in the virtual world
  • A chance for us to learn AR technology
  • Help people connect with each other
It's growing! Damn, that's cool! Johan, student

Features

What can you do in bARk?

Leaf shaping

Shape the tree's leaves exactly as you want them!

Tree cloud

Your tree is automatically saved to the cloud.

See your tree from all possible angles, as if it's part of the real world!

Watch it grow

See your tree grow from a tiny sprout all the way into a mighty guardian of the forest!

Embrace the bugs!

Watch swarms of bugs fly around your tree and see them disperse as you move closer.

Future changes

  • Put a picture of your face on the virtual tree as an extrusion.
  • Seasonal changes to the tree.
  • Carve into the bark.
